Private - I'd go protected but I'm worried I might eventually get too protective ^.^''
Full Name: Wes Eveon
Gender: male
Age: fourteen, born on <rolls three dice> October.... <rolls six dice> 30th.
Occupation: street rat, occasional student/apprentice
Angelspoken: Yes, Life. At the moment, he doesn't know it, though what he does know is he's faster than most people (running, climbing, thinking up witty retorts), and his injuries heal faster and more completely.
At some point, I want his Angelspoken-ness to grow, though since I don't know what else to include, no hurry here. ^.^ Even if I think of something tomorrow, I won't introduce it in the RP for a while.
Appearance: His dress is a bit more ragged than it probably should be; though his family is lower-middle class, he usually looks like he lives in the backstreets of Malach. Also, his ears are slightly pointy, and he's very light on his feet. You might think of a cat; you definitely would think of a cat (minus the stealthy part) if you hung out with him for a day. Otherwise, he looks like your average fourteen-year-old boy. (Oh, he hasn't quite hit puberty yet, so his voice is still fairly high, not cracking yet, and no facial hair.)
Personality: "Bundle of energy" might be a bit too much to describe him, but (pardon the modern reference) "Energizer Bunny" probably wouldn't be. He has a very bright outlook on life, and this along with his friendliness make it very easy for him to get away with stuff like only going to class whenever he feels like it. He's a bit of an insomniac, only taking catnaps at random times throughout the day and night, but you wouldn't know that meeting him. He's also a fast learner and quick thinker; he would actually do very well at Pallas' University if his parents had the means to send him (or even thought it might be good for him; he hangs out on the streets with his friends so much no-one's considered he might be University material)
Likes: running, having fun (whatever form that takes), cats, the idea of travel
Dislikes: being told what to do, dogs, getting caught, vegetables
Strengths: speed, better-than-average healing, wits, craftiness, charm
Weaknesses: some clouded judgment, lack of stealth, malnutrition, not very strong
History: Wesley Umbresp Eveon was born as the fourth child of Alexander (then 42) and Ruita (27) Eveon in the capital city of Malach, Iden. His father worked in a printing business, while his mother was kept busy watching him and his siblings (a brother four years older, twins two years older, and a sister two years younger). The large family reflected what Ruita grew up with, as she herself had four siblings at one point.
The large family combined with Alexander's job kept the family as lower-middle class, living in one of the outer boroughs of Malach. Wes, being a bit more adventuresome than his siblings, would wander off while the five of them played in the streets, and thus by the age of seven he had become friends with several of the street kids living in the area. Connecting with them a bit more than his siblings and the children of his parents' friends, he began staying away from home for elongated periods of time, sometimes up to three days a stretch. Activities range from running around playing to annoying wealthier individuals to making friends with complete strangers to petty theft. Though this tendency to hang out with the poorer kids was not something his parents had hoped for, they accepted his antics, mostly because he never really gave them trouble, and the rest of his siblings were mor apt to act within the lines of their social level.
He did technically enroll in a school run by a couple a block or two over when he was nine, from suggestions made by the twins, but he really only goes to classes whenever he wants; he likes hanging out with his friends more, and it never really took him a long time to understand what the couple was teaching at the moment. Similar to this, he also began taking up apprenticeships with people he would meet on the street, usually staying with them and learning their craft for a couple days to several weeks
Family: old father (Alexander), younger mother (Ruita); two big brothers (Samuel & Manifred), a big sister (Teresa), and a little sister (Chloe)
extended family: maternal uncle w/ aunt & cousin in Pallas, Iden; maternal aunt w/ 3 cousins in Task, Iden; paternal second cousin somewhere in Ra'isse
Character RP sample: The three of them lay down, munching on bread in silence.
At least, for as long as those three could stay silent.
"MmmMmmMmmmmm.... This is really good bread, Wes."
"Yeah, where'd you get it?"
"The bakery on Essex Lane."
"Essex Lane? That place is expensive, man!" the younger boy exclaimed, sitting up in surprise.
"So I take it that you 'borrowed' this loaf, huh?" the older boy said, leaning up slightly to rest on his elbows and giving the younger boy a high five.
"Actually," Wes said with an air of pride, "I've been working in that bakery for the past week or two. I put in an extra loaf in this afternoon's first batch so I could have it."
"Oh."
"That's pretty cool, then."
A moment passed in silence again, that is if you weren't watching Wes's eyes.
"However," he added quickly, "I did swipe the secret recipe; that's why it tastes so good."
"Nice one!" the younger boy said amongst laughing and more high-fives being spread around.
Wes continued "I took the recipe to class earlier today and used some supplies there to copy it. Original went back to the bakery, no-one the wiser, copy is going to Chloe."
"Which reminds me," he added, "I'm thirsty now." With that, he stood up, walked down the sloped roof the were lying on, and jumped off the edge.
The window directly below his drop point had a sizable awning over it, which he used to roll and propel himself across the narrow alley into a window of the next building. He unfortunately did not get his foot on the windowsill like he normally did, causing a rather loud noise as he roll/slammed into the floor of the room.
"AaArgh - eh, that's bruise," he said, picking himself up and brushing himself off before exiting the room into a hallway, where he turned toward the stairs leading to the ground level.
"What was-?" a girl exclaimed, sticking her head out of the next room over. She then saw him and her somewhat frightened look faded. "Oh, Wes, it's you - again. You've got to stop doing that! The family downstairs-"
"Hey there sis!" he said brightly, heading back toward the stairs after pausing a bit to see who he had startled; then pausing and turning back around to face here again. "Oh, Chloe, this is for you...." he said, rummaging around in the pockets of his ragged jacket until he found the paper he was looking for. "Absolutely phenomenal recipe for bread. Thought you'd like it," he finished, handing it to her, then starting down the hall again. "Got it at the bakery I've been at for the past week or two."
"A bakery this time, huh? You been to class at all recently?" she asked, following him.
"Yeah, was there just this morning; ask Manny, we did some writing exercises together." He stuck his head into the next room, saw what he was looking for (a small canteen) and grabbed it, popping back into the hall and heading down the stairs two at a time.
"Where are you off to now?" his sister asked.
"Back out," he said simply, and by then he was at the bottom of the stairs and out the door.
He jogged a few streets over to a popular spring-fed well, filled his canteen, and headed back in the direction of his home. He then passed it, passed the building his two friends were on, then stopped at the next building and went down the alley a bit. A quick shimmy up the drainpipe had him on the roof of that building; he then went to the point of the roof, ran down it, and jumped across the alley at its narrowest point. He got most of his arms on the next roof's edge, and with a loose stone thankfully sticking out a bit of the wall, was able to hoist himself onto the roof. He then went over the roof's peak, back to where his friends were waiting.
"Took ya long enough," the younger one teased.
Wes took a purposefully audible gulp from his canteen, then dumped a little bit of the water out on his friend's head.
"Worth it, too," he joked before lying down with his two friends; they babbled on as twilight set in.
